Pickering Bird Retreat grew out of a simple idea: parrot families deserve boarding that feels like staying with friends. Every bird that stays with us gets hands-on attention, an individual play schedule, and care from people who have lived with parrots for years.
We board all companion parrot species — from budgies and cockatiels up to African Greys and Goffins cockatoos. Our pricing is tiered by size, our policies keep everyone healthy, and our door is always open to questions.

Water changes twice daily (or more), daily food top-ups, seasonal fresh fruit and veggies, and treats — we love to spoil them.
Out-of-cage exercise and enrichment, one bird at a time. No shared flock time — it's the safest way to keep everyone healthy.
Our day rate is tiered by species so you only pay for the care your bird needs. 13% HST applies. Vet health exam within the past 12 months required.

Finding someone who actually understands parrots is not easy. These folks get it. My Grey, Archie, can be picky about new people, but he warmed up to them within hours. I have used Pickering Bird Retreat three times now and will keep coming back.
